Who is responsible for your data

What we collect through the assessment
The type of treatment involved, dates of treatment and of when you realised something had gone wrong, where you were treated, your own description of what happened, and your name, phone number and email address.
Information about your health, or the health of a family member, is special category data under Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Lawful basis
We process health information on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR), given by ticking a separate, unticked box with this wording:
I consent to Daniel Kreith Solicitor processing the health information I have provided for the purpose of assessing whether I may have a medical negligence claim. I understand I can withdraw this consent at any time.
Your contact details are processed to respond to your enquiry at your request (Article 6(1)(b)). If you go on to instruct us, processing for the purpose of legal claims is also covered by Article 9(2)(f). Marketing messages are only sent if you tick the separate, optional marketing box, and you can opt out at any time.
How it is stored
- The form is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to a secure database.
- Submissions are not emailed in plain text.
- Access is limited to the solicitor handling your enquiry.
- No advertising network receives any information you type.

Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It records page visits and a small number of events (such as starting the assessment), never the content of anything you type.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time by phoning 086 076 2191 or emailing us; we will then stop processing your health information and delete it unless we are legally required to keep it. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
You can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
